The beliefs and festivals found in the Suwa area are unique and have a long history.In particular, the Onbashira Festival (Ceremonial Year Construction Onbashira Festival) related to Suwa Shrine (currently Suwa Taisha Shrine) and the Mikami Watari that appears in Lake Suwa in the midwinter are famous.
In addition, there are some that are no longer seen and some that have changed in shape and appearance.We will mainly exhibit materials owned or stored by the museum from the Middle Ages onwards, which will give you a glimpse of some of these "faith in Suwa".
