Nagano Prefectural LibraryKenritsu Nagano Toshokan
Founded in September 1929 (Showa 4) by donating most of the books from the Shinano Education Society "Shinano Library", which is also the predecessor of the Prefectural Nagano Library. Moved to the current location in 9 (Showa 1979).From the past to the present, it houses 54 books and materials collected over the 110 years of modern Shinshu.
In addition to direct services such as lending books, we are also striving to comprehensively collect, store, and utilize local materials in order to pass on local information and culture to future generations as the mission of the prefecture's only prefectural library. On the other hand, the museum has an environment where you can access digital information on various devices such as various commercial databases and tablet terminals, which can be used for surveys.
In April 2019, the "Shinshu Learning Creation Lab" will open on the 31rd floor. Based on the concept of "co-knowledge and co-creation," we aim to be a place where people can connect and learn together and create new social value. The lab has a plot where you can make things, a Co-Learning zone, a Shinshu information search zone, etc., and it is a place where you can try and experience the learning of Shinshu.
