In August 2005, an art museum containing a collection of the late chairman of Satori Electric Co., Ltd., the late Yasuo Satori, was donated to Kyoto University of Art and Design. The museum houses and displays about 8 modern Japanese, Western, and glass works. Located in the foothills of Yatsugatake where the Jomon archaeological sites are concentrated, it is an elegant building that stands in a forest of 370 tsubo. It is an art museum with a scale not seen as a private museum.
