This is a pure Western-style hotel, designed by Japanese people. The octagonal tower is built to show the majesty of the asymmetrical shape, and the elaborate decoration that is excellent in design can be seen everywhere. By visiting this former Mikasa Hotel, you can learn about and interact with the architecture of the Meiji era. It is also a symbol of Karuizawa. In May 1980 (Showa 55), designated as a National Important Cultural Property.
