Takashima Castle was built in 1592 by Takayoshi Hineno, a military commander of Hideyoshi Toyotomi. At the time of the castle construction, the water of Lake Suwa approached the castle, and was also known as "Suwa no Uki Castle". The castle tower was rebuilt in 45, and the inside has become a museum and observation deck. Takashima Park, where the castle tower is located, is also a famous cherry blossom spot.
