Aoki Village Shinshu Insect MuseumAokimurashinshuyukan
It is located at No. 8 of the Satoyama "Jukanyama", where you can enjoy views of Shiodadaira and Asama Mountains. In the spring, the rows of mountain cherry trees create a peculiar atmosphere. There is also a large field where you can chase insects and spread your lunch. Inside the museum, you can see butterflies, moths, beetles, dragonflies, bees, flies, and flies found in Nagano Prefecture, as well as other butterflies from other prefectures. In addition, the Insect Library has more than 4,000 books, documents and pictorial books, and can be used by school children and students to researchers. Permanent galleries of insect painter Yasushi Yamada in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, as well as a photo gallery of the newly established Kurita Sadao Butterfly are also popular.
