Mizuno Collection "Drawing People-From Masakuni Hashimoto to Tatsuo Takayama"

Since ancient times, painters have painted people.
For example, great men in oriental history and stories, monks familiar to the people, or people living in Ichii.
There are many different figures of people left in the painting.
Also, how to express that person is where the painter devises his ingenuity, and it can be said to be one of the highlights of portraiture.

In this exhibition, we will introduce various figures of people drawn in paintings and various expressions of people.
Masakuni Hashimoto is a lively image of the personalities of Chinese poets and Zen priests.Masters of bijin-ga, Uemura Shoen and Kiyokata Kaburagi, expressed the beauty of women along with the seasonal atmosphere.Furthermore, the portrait of Tatsuo Takayama, who was active in the Showa era, has a mystery that praises the existence of human beings.

We hope that you will discover the charm and fun of drawing people through portraits created by many Japanese painters.
